💬 What is Delta GEMS?

Delta GEMS (Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully) is a signature youth initiative of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. designed to provide mentorship, encouragement, and guidance to young ladies ages 14–18 and grade 9th - 12th. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of confident, college-bound, and purpose-driven leaders.

🤝 How You Can Help

Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our Delta GEMS. Whether you're a community leader, educator, professional, or student, your time and skills can make a lasting impact. Here are a few ways to get involved:

Guest Speaker: Share your career journey or life lessons.
Workshop Facilitator: Lead sessions on confidence, career prep, wellness, or financial literacy.
Chaperone: Assist during field trips, community service events, or social outings.
Mentor: Be a consistent role model and listening ear to one or more of our GEMS.

Submit a Background Check
For the safety of our youth, all volunteers are required to complete a background screening.

Attend a Volunteer Orientation Session

Once your forms are submitted, you will be contacted about the next virtual/in-person orientation by the Risk

Management Chair.

📅 Time Commitment

Volunteers can expect to actively participate 1 to 2 times per month, based on scheduled events and programming needs. This may include mentorship sessions, workshops, community service, or special events. Consistent engagement is essential to building meaningful connections and maintaining the integrity of the program while ensuring continued support for our youth participants.
